Askar Mamin inspects construction of Astana -Temirtau highway
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin has held a retreat on the Astana-Temirtau road section of the Center � South road corridor. The project is being implemented within Nurly Zhol program.
The meeting heard reports from the Chairman of the Board of NC KazAutoZhol JSC Yermek Kizatov, Deputy Minister of Investments and Development Berik Kamaliyev and heads of such contracting companies as Ivrus LLP, DS Neuburg LLP, AKM LLC, ABK Avtodor NC LLP, Dorstroy LLP.
The total length of the new Astana � Temirtay highway is 171 km. The reconstruction of the road is almost completed.
The road is being built according to I-a regulations of technical category with a computed speed of 140 km/hour. Oncoming lanes are separated with curved bars that will reduce the number of accidents at least 3 times, and the level of severity and injuries � 8 times.
The road is being reconstructed in full accordance with the design and estimate documentation and with observing all technologies.
After the reconstruction the road section capacity will be increased from 6,000 to 28,000 cars per day.
The project provides for construction in Arshaly and Oshagandy villages of two objects of roadside service with heating points for a comfortable journey.
51.5 billion tenge is provided this year for completion of works. Over 2,000 thousand people and 1,200 technical units are involved in the construction.
85% of the materials used in the road reconstruction are of Kazakh production.
NC KazAutoZhol JSC will commission 920 km of roads by the year-end. The traffic will be opened throughout the Western Europe � Western China corridor, Astana � Temirtau, Almaty � Taldykorgan, Aktau � Beineu, Kokshetau � Petropavlovsk highways. The bridges across Tobol in Kostanay and Irtysh in Pavlodar region have being commissioned.
Summarizing the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin noted that the main operations on Astana �Temirtau road reconstruction have been performed.
Meanwhile, NC KazAutoZhol JSC was instructed to complete until November 10 the works on necessary arrangements and provision of safe terms for uninterrupted movement of transport.
