Amendments to law on religion to introduce in Kazakhstan
The leadership of the Spiritual Council of Muslims of Kazakhstan, imams, representatives of the fund Uakyt, the science and research and analytical center on religions, religious experts took part in the meeting.
According to the Ministry, Vice-President Berik Aryn underlined that the law on religious activity and religious associations should establish the legislative norms which on one hand ensure and protect the rights of a citizen, and on the other hand decrease opportunities to use religions in extremist and other destructive purposes.
The law introduces the ban on wearing of parts of dress of destructive ideologies, distribution and promotion of their beliefs in mass media, as well as will strengthen the responsibility for illegal involvement of young people into religious activity.
In their speeches, participants have underlined the importance and timeliness of prepared amendments to the legislative acts on religious activity, which should become the basis for strengthening of secularism of the State, formation of the all-nation system against promotion of the ideology of religious extremism.
