Ambassadors of Kazakhstan spoke about coop prospects with Finland and Sweden
According to the Ministry, on June 20 the national day of Finland will be held on the territory of EXPO-2017 in Astana, which will be attended President Sauli Niinisto, and from June 18 two countries’ capital will be connected by the direct air communication.
The Ambassador also noted that today the active work is done to connect the flagships of the Finnish industry to projects to modernize Kazakhstan’s industry, develop key sectors of production, form clusters of a “green” economy to enhance the innovative potential of our country.
“Finnish business shows the great interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan”, M. Nurtleuov added.
At the same time, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden, Dastan Yeleukenov, noted in his speech the high level of development of the Kazakh-Swedish cooperation, the main directions of which are space research, science and innovations.
“We associate big plans with the upcoming state visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Sweden, scheduled for October this year. We are confident that this visit will bring cooperation between two countries to a qualitatively new level. The spheres of education, space industry, agriculture and “green” technologies are promising for cooperation”, the diplomat stressed.
D. Yeleukenov also added that Kazakhstan is interested in attracting Swedish investments into country’s agro-industrial complex and the transfer of Swedish technologies and know-how. The intensive work is done in this direction.
Let us note that Sweden occupies the position of the second trading partner of Kazakhstan among the countries of the Scandinavian region after Finland. In 2016, trade with Finland amounted to 341.9 million dollars, with Sweden – 310.9 million dollars.
