Ambassadors of foreign countries expressed confidence in future success of AIFC


The representatives of the diplomatic corps were acquainted with the activities of the AIFC on the eve of the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

AIFC manager Kairat Kelimbetov told the guests that the idea of creating the financial center belongs to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the AIFC is part of “100 concrete steps” for the implementation of five institutional reforms.

The participants of the meeting were informed about the strategic directions of the activities of the AIFC, its goals and priorities, planned activities for development of the capital market, asset management, Islamic finance, financial technologies and “green” finance in the region.

The Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign countries to Kazakhstan expressed confidence in the future success of the AIFC due to its uniqueness. The AIFC will be the only financial center in the CIS, functioning on the principles of English law.

AIFC’s tasks are to assist in attracting investments in country’s economy by creating an attractive environment for investing in financial services, developing the securities market of Kazakhstan, ensuring its integration with international capital markets. The AIFC also plans to develop insurance, banking and Islamic financing markets in the country.
