Almaty adopts Swiss experience in Household Solid Wastes processing


The delegation includes Deputy Director of the Chamber of Commercial-Industrial Canton Ticino Marco Passalia, Deputy Chairman of the Board of “Axion Swiss Bank” Alberto Lotti, Head of “Enet Energy SA” Barujia Matiya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Kazakhstan Urs Schmid.

The sides discussed issues of strengthening trade, economic and cultural ties.

According to M. Passalia, an important step towards strengthening mutual cooperation was the signing of a Memorandum between Almaty and Lugano in last May.

“We came to discuss the possibility of implementing specific projects in the field of Household Solid Wastes processing, increasing of the efficiency of the electric-power system, as well as a number of projects in the cultural and tourist direction. I think that we can significantly expand the spheres of interaction”, – M. Passalia said.

He also noted that at EXPO-2017 in Astana Switzerland will be represented by several energy companies.

“This is an important step for us in general and an additional opportunity to discuss some projects in Almaty”, – M. Passalia noted.

During the meeting of the Swiss delegation, the potential for localization of production by foreign companies on the territory of the Industrial Zone and SEZ “PIT” was presented. The Mayor of the metropolis also invited Swiss tourist companies to take part in the international exhibition KITF “Tourism and Travel”, which will be held in Almaty from April 19 to 21 this year.
