Abylgaziev meets with Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov
Yesterday, Nov.1 Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev has arrived in Uzbekistan for participation in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
During his working visit, PM Abylgaziev met with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov.
Abylgaziev said the Kyrgyz side attaches particular importance to the relations between the two countries.
Cooperation with Uzbekistan, foreign economic policy remains a priority. In 2016, trade turnover was only about $50 million. To date, this figure has reached $446 million in just half a year. This shows that within 2.5 years, trade turnover has increased three times in one position, and 10 times in another, the Kyrgyz PM said.
Further, he noted the political will of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov allows countries to strengthen relations in culture, politics and business.
