About 174 billion tenge was allocated for housing construction in the first quarter of 2017
The volume of construction work increased by 7.1% in the first quarter of this year. In general, 173.4 billion tenge was allocated for housing construction, which is 14% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by Minister of Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek at the press conference at Ukimet Uyi on the results of implementing the Presidential Address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness.
Under the Nurly Zher Program, implementation of which started in the beginning of this year, 3.1 million square meters of housing have been put into operation, which is 125.3% compared to the same period in 2016. 30% of the housing planned for the year were put into commission � 10.2 million square meters, � the Minister noted, summing up the results of implementing the Presidential Address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness in the first quarter of this year.
At the same time, 93.2% of the total housing area is built by private developers and the population. The state sector occupies only 5% of the total volume of housing construction in the Republic. A total of 25 230 units of housing were commissioned in the Republic, 7 701 of them were individual houses.
Z. Kassymbek reminded that the Head of the State in his Address instructed the Government to provide housing to 1.5 million families in 15 years within the Nurly Zher housing program.
