President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov will take part in a session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Dushanbe. This was reported by the CSTO press service.

It is noted that the meeting will be held on September 16.

According to the Organization, the event will be attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The meeting will be attended by the non-secretary general of the CSTO Stanislav Zas.

Members of the CSC will discuss topical issues of international and regional security and the main results of the activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the intersessional period. One of the most important issues will be the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the security of the CSTO member states.

During the session of the CSC, it is expected that the Declaration of the Collective Security Council will be adopted, as well as a number of documents related to peacekeeping, ensuring the activities of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) and equipping the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces with modern weapons, military and special equipment, special means, will be signed. the CSTO budget for 2022 was considered.

Taking into account the transfer of the chairmanship of the CSTO to the Republic of Armenia in 2021-2022. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will present the country’s priorities to be implemented.

On the eve, on September 15, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils will take place, during which the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions and the agenda of the upcoming CSC session will be discussed. A number of important political statements are expected to be adopted, including the Joint Statement of the CSTO member states “On the Situation in Afghanistan.”
