A Campaign Against Violence Is Being Launched in Astana
In the period from November 25 to December 10, 2016 Kazakhstan will have the national information and propaganda campaign directed against violence. The campaign participants are representatives of government agencies, non-governmental organizations and the public. As a part of the information campaign, the capital’s police officers will conduct educational lectures, conversations, flash mobs, as well as round-table discussions.
The event is aimed at raising legal awareness among citizens and legal advice. Introduction of the general public to measures taken to prevent and combat domestic violence, as well as informing the public about available helplines and crisis centers will be carried out.
In addition, employees of the department for the protection of women against violence, as well as psychologists will provide legal, psychological assistance to the needy citizens to preserve marriages and families, adjust relationships between spouses.
During the campaign, shopping and entertainment center will host a concert. Residents of Astana willing to obtain information and consultation of experts may address to the city crisis center to receive psychological assistance (49-78-89, psychologists) or the hotline of departments for the protection of women against violence of Astana DIA 71-60- 63.
