The tourism development in our country is one of the tasks set by the Head of State. At a recent visit to Burabay, the President once again noted the need to show all the possibilities of tourism in our country not only to Kazakhstanis but also to foreign guests.
Some figures indicate that interest in tourism is growing. According to the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan, in 2017 the number of internal visitors increased by 20%. This growth trend continues, which indicates the interest of Kazakhstanis in traveling across our country. At the same time, the number of foreigners who visited Kazakhstan in 2017 increased by more than 18%. These figures are given in comparison with 2016.
For comparison over the previous 4 years from 2012 to 2016, the number of entry visitors has increased by only 6%. The statistics for the first quarter of this year shows a positive growth trend: the number of Kazakhstanis who preferred to travel within the country increased by 6.8%, and foreigners – by 29.4%. This is the highest growth rate in the history of independent Kazakhstan, Rashid Kuzembayev, the Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tourism JSC, said at a briefing of the Central Communication Service.
Speaking about the expedition, which will be held from July 18 to September 26, he noted that it is aimed not only at popularization of tourism but also at identification of problematic issues, to find the necessary infrastructure solutions for the further development of tourism at the local level.
For 3 months a team of professionals will visit the most interesting parts of our country in order to show and tell about them to Kazakhstan and foreign tourists. The expedition will also identify the necessary infrastructure solutions for the further development of tourism in these places. The updated information about the tourism sites and these routes will form the basis for the development of the state program for the tourism development, he added.
It should be noted that the expedition will be conducted along 6 routes with coverage of 6 tourist clusters.
The routes are planned taking into account the maximum number of natural and sacral sites interesting for the development of tourism: Pearls of the Tien Shan – Almaty region; Altai is the cradle of civilization – East Kazakhstan region; Dzungarian Ala Tau – Almaty region; Sary-Arka – Akmola, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Kostanay regions; From sea to sea – Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Mangistau regions; The New Silk Road – Turkestan, Zhambyl, Almaty regions, Rashid Kuzembayev said.
According to the information of Timur Duisengaliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tourism JSC, about 140 people will take part in the expedition, which includes professional guides and experienced travelers, journalists, well-known travel bloggers from Europe, China and Kazakhstan.
Following the results of the expedition, new tourist routes will be formed, a high-quality photo/video bank on natural objects of the country will be created and information about their condition will be updated. Also, illustrated guidebooks about natural objects will be created, T. Duisengaliyev said.
Director of the Kazakh TV channel Sandugash Rakhimzhanova stressed that they also have become a part of this large and important project to explore Kazakhstan.
The route will begin on Wednesday, and I’m sure that everyone is looking forward to the beginning of this path. We are faced with the task of telling about 6 regions in a new format. We want to show that in order to experience new sensations and discoveries, it is not necessary to leave somewhere abroad, because all the most interesting and involved in the history of our country is here, S. Rakhimzhanova noted.
The expedition is organized by the National Company Kazakh Tourism on the state task of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Kazakhstan.
