59 thousand families from southern regions to be able to move to northern regions of the country before 2022 within the framework of increasing labor mobility
During the briefing at the Government press center, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Birzhan Nurymbetov spoke of the measures to increase labor mobility of citizens within the framework of the Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship Development Program.
He noted that 710 million tenge was allocated for the labor mobility direction of the Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship Development Program in 2017. These funds cover the resettlement of 288 families, because currently there is a quota in place for internal resettlement. The specified amount includes financial assistance for relocation and subsidies for reimbursement of housing rent for 12 months, which for each family ranges from 34 to 68 thousand tenge, depending on the settlement and the number of family members.
We have conducted an analysis and determined that today the demographic situation in northern regions is developing in such a way that in the next five the number of economically active population in them will decrease by 167 thousand people. Therefore, we must support the initiative of people who want to move to the northern regions. Today we offer additional tools to those subsidies that are already provided for and are working out financing issues, the Deputy Minister said.
He stressed that if the prepared proposals are supported, then from 2018 to 2022, assistance in resettling will be provided to about 59 thousand families from the southern regions.
