40 events to popularize Turkic culture to be held in SK region
In the current year, 40 events will be held in South Kazakhstan region within a project “Turkestan – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World”, with the aim of popularizing the Turkic culture during the year.
According to the Governor’s Office, in accordance with the plan of events, international aitys of akyns, festivals of animated films, traditional art, satire, dance, circus, opera, theater of Turkic peoples, domestic and animation movies, as well as handicraft and music festivals will be organized.
It is to be recalled that the plan of events held within the project “Turkestan – Cultural Capital of the Turkic world” was approved during the signing of a trilateral agreement between the International Organization TARKSOY, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan and the Governor’s Office of South Kazakhstan region.
As the Governor’s Office informed, on March 21, 2017 a solemn ceremony of opening of this project will be held and TARKSOY award in the field of journalism will be presented. On the day of vernal equinox, the celebration of Nauryz will begin, and in Cultural Center of Akhmet Yassawi University with participation of official guests holding International Scientific and Practical Conference “Turkestan and Turkology” is planned.
It is expected that this event will be attended by about 1000 guests. Among them there are about 50 official guests from 22 Turkic and other states, as well as media representatives and more than 230 creative groups. Most cultural events will be held in the city of Turkestan. A number of events will take their origin in Turkestan and will continue in Shymkent.
The closing ceremony for the Year is scheduled for November 2017 in Turkestan. At the end of the project the next cultural capital of the Turkic world-2018, which will be pass the baton will be determined.
