320 thousand Kazakhstanis to be trained in technical fields before 2021 within the framework of productive employment development


Today’s Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev considered the report of the Ministry of Education and Science within the framework of implementing the Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship Program for 2017-2021.

Yerlan Sagadiyev reported that within the framework of the Program the Ministry carries out general coordination and monitoring of the implementation of personnel training in technical and vocational education, taking into account the needs of the labor market. Thus, from 2017 to 2021, 320.5 thousand people will be involved in this direction within the framework of the Program.

Also in the regions, 1844 mobile groups have been established to form lists of applicants for training. A list is determined of 317 educational organizations and 271 priority specialties for the training of workers (services and service, technical, technological, agricultural) for 586 qualifications.

The Minister explained that the category of Program participants includes school leavers, persons not enrolled in educational institutions, persons seeking jobs, persons in a difficult life situation and members of low-income families and other categories of citizens. In addition, the Program participants will be provided with a scholarship, one-time hot meals and have travel expenses covered. It was also noted that at present 12 771 applications have been submitted from aspiring trainees.
