2,800 fires killed 33 people in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2021

During the first 11 months of 2021, a total of 2 thousand 801 fires were recorded in Kyrgyzstan (in 2020 – 2 thousand 21), number of fires increased by 12.2% compared to last year, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said Monday.

33 people were killed in fires (in 2020 – 30 people) and 44 people were injured (in 2020 – 28 people). 29 human lives were saved and material assets worth KGS 19 billion 236 million 638 thousand were saved.

The main causes of fires are:

– violation of the rules of electrical equipment operation – 1133 (18.8%);

– violation of the rules of operation of heating furnaces and chimneys – 265 (13.2%);

– careless handling of fire – 476 (-14.1%);

– children’s pranks with fire – 188 (-13%).

The largest number of fires was registered in Chui Oblast – 705, the smallest – 90 – in Osh city.
