280 organizations to be privatized in Kazakhstan this year

“As of April 1, 2017, the time-table have been re-approved and road maps for the implementation of each facility have been developed. As a result, in 2017 280 organizations will be put up for sale, in 2018 – 84”, T. Suleimenov said.

The Minister also informed that the State Commission for Economic Modernization adopted decisions on the way of selling of 22 assets from TOP-64, including 8 companies of the republican ownership and 14 companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, as well as 157 assets of the Fund out of 215 to be transferred to a particular environment.

“In fulfillment of the order of the Head of State, announced on February 3, 2017, at the enlarged meeting of the Government, lists of objects have been created that will remain in state ownership and quasi-public sector, as well as those subject to liquidation. When creating the lists of objects, we were based on the results of the inventory, where 6003 organizations were proposed to be retained in the state ownership, of which more than 88% are social organizations, and 447 companies in the quasi-judicial sector, and 243 are liquidated”, T. Suleimenov said.

We remind that in the Address of the President of Kazakhstan “Third Modernization: Global Competitiveness”, the Government was instructed to complete the privatization of the organizations included in the Comprehensive Plan by the end of 2018.
