Main obstacles to achieving peace in region are Western circles – Azerbaijani MP

“As a result of the hypocritical rhetoric of the West, especially France and the United States, which took on the mediation mission of the former Nagorno-Garabagh conflict, although Armenia continued its occupation and aggression for 30 years, the glorious Victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War radically changed the reality in the region,” Bahruz Maharramov, MP of Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) told APA.

Bahruz Maharramov noted that states such as the United States and France, which had been prying into the internal affairs of many states by calling for human rights, democracy, and the rule of international law for decades, were left out of the game in the region due to their unhealthy intentions against the background of the new reality created by Azerbaijan: “The Western puppet, unexpectedly defeated in the processes, started a new crusade against Azerbaijan using Armenia and fictitious claims, and in this process began to use various platforms as a tool. Today, we can confidently say that the main obstacles to the final peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the region are the Western circles, which could not implement their ugly intentions.”
