According to the results of 2019, 13.1 million square meters of housing were commissioned within the framework of the Nurly Zher state program aimed at ensuring housing affordability for the country’s population. More precisely, 115,800 dwellings, which is 104.9% compared to last year, informs referring to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

So, over the 12 months of last year, 14.5 thousand rental apartments without the right to purchase were built. Of these, 6266 apartments were for socially vulnerable segments of the population. In terms of regions, Turkestan (1532 apartments), Atyrau (600 apartments) and Kyzylorda (521 apartments) regions are leaders. 5597 apartments were for large families. Turkestan (841 apartments), Almaty (686 apartments) regions and the city of Nur-Sultan (549 apartments) are leaders. In addition, working young people received 2530 apartments. In particular, in the city of Nur-Sultan – 1050 apartments, in Shymkent – 904 apartments and Almaty – 576 apartments.

At the same time, 10,600 credit apartments were built by local executive bodies, with the financing of Samruk-Kazyna Real Estate Fund JSC – 643 dwellings and 2,748 dwellings were built by private developers.

It is worth noting that in 2018 12.5 million square meters of housing or 0.68 square meters per inhabitant of the country were commissioned. This was the highest rate among the CIS countries (Russia – 0.54 sq.m., Belarus – 0.40 sq.m., Uzbekistan – 0.36 sq.m.).

The rate of housing per person has reached 21.9 sq.m. By 2030, it is planned to bring this figure to 30 sq.m.

Now, work in the sphere of housing construction will be continued within the framework of the new State program for housing and communal development Nurly Zher for 2020-2025, which was developed as part of the implementation of strategic initiatives of First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and instructions of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and adopted at the end of last year.

The new Program consolidates all measures of the state support in the housing sphere, providing housing for citizens, modernization and development of the housing system. The main objective is to increase the availability and comfort of housing and the development of housing infrastructure.
