The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is launching the 11th annual Central Asia Trade Forum today, the organization said.
As noted, during this international event, the promotion of trade and cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and beyond, and recovery from the pandemic and resilience in the region will be discussed.
The five-day virtual event will feature 80 inspiring speakers from around the world, including Central Asia and the United States, with 3,500 attendees from 42 countries.
This year’s Forum on Post-Pandemic Recovery Through Expanding Regional Cooperation will bring together business, government and policy makers, industry companies, and industry experts from the region and beyond to discuss post-pandemic trade trends, trade and tourism recovery in COVID-19 conditions, water security in Central Asia, renewable energy investment opportunities in Central Asia and other interesting topics.
In her welcoming speech, US Deputy Ambassador to Kazakhstan Judy Kuo said, “The first Central Asia Trade Forum in Bishkek in 2011 was founded on the belief that cooperation, exchange of ideas and international trade are key to prosperity. We are pleased to note that the presidents of the countries of the region support the opinion of mutually beneficial regional cooperation, which is the best way to overcome today’s challenges. “
This year, the Forum falls on the 30th anniversary of US cooperation with the five Central Asian republics. During this period, the United States of America provided more than $ 9 billion in direct support to ensure peace and security, support for democratic reform, economic growth, and humanitarian needs. Thanks to bilateral relations and regional strategies of cooperation and interaction, the countries of the region have been able to become more competitive, stimulate the development of a diversified economy and increase prosperity throughout the region.

Over the past decade, USAID’s Central Asia Trade Forum has advocated increased regional cooperation and collaboration to stimulate and accelerate sustainable economic growth in the region. The forum brought together more than 10 thousand participants from more than 30 countries to identify problems limiting trade and economic prosperity, exchange ideas and solutions, build business relationships and conduct business.
