BAKU: The series of meetings with delegations of international organizations and foreign states participating in the 29th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Baku is being held, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office.
Meanwhile, it was noted that today Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation from the UK led by the head of the Crown Prosecution Service, Stephen Parkinson.
‘Noting that the United Kingdom is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev drew attention to the existence of historical trade and cultural ties between the two countries.
Referring to the large-scale reforms carried out in the bodies of the Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev talked of the role of the Prosecutor’s Office in the fight against crime in the modern era and the importance of international cooperation in this field. He spoke of the importance of exchange of experience between the countries and bilater
al visits of the Prosecutor’s Office staff.
Underscoring the historical significance of holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Azerbaijan, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev presented invitation letters to the guests to participate in the high-level plenary session entitled ‘Mobilization of Law Enforcement Agencies to Strengthen the Fight against Climate Change’ organized within COP29 by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The head of the Crown Prosecution Service expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highly appreciated the ongoing reforms in the prosecutor’s office and the existing ties between the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries.
