The opening ceremony of the Silk Road Institute was held in the format of an online conference at the Center for Innovative Technologies of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.
Within the framework of the One Belt, One Road project, Kyrgyz National University is carrying out purposeful work to strengthen and deepen the relations of friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Kyrgyz National University maintains friendly and business ties with many leading universities in China. This year, the Silk Road Institute was established by joint efforts of Kyrgyz National University and Henan University (Kaifeng, Henan Province, China).
According to the deputy governor of Henan province – Huo Zinhua, the creation of an institution of this level will strengthen educational exchange between Kyrgyzstan and China.
The institute will train specialists for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate professional education programs (PhD in philosophy).
Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Bolotbek Kupeshev noted that the creation of a joint Kyrgyz-Chinese institute will enhance the scientific and educational potential of the republic. “The Ministry fully and completely supports the initiative to create the Silk Road Institute, thanks to this work, the training of domestic specialists will reach a new level,” the minister emphasized.
