Preservation of history and promotion of national values is one of the key activities of the deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence, senators laid flowers at the monuments to prominent public and state figures of Kazakhstan – Kanysh Satpayev and Zhumabek Tashenev.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Social and Cultural Development and Science Murat Baktiyaruly noted the invaluable contribution of Kanysh Satpayev to the development of Kazakhstani science. In addition, the great Kazakh scientist actively participated in the economic, social and spiritual life of the country.

The parliamentarians also visited the monument to Zhumabek Tashenev, recently opened as part of the celebration of the anniversary of Independence. The senators stressed that Zhumabek Tashenev made an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the territorial integrity of Kazakhstan. During his career in high positions, he did a lot for the rehabilitation of the repressed, and also took a direct part in the republishing of the works of the repressed Kazakh writers Saken Seifullin, Beimbet Mailin, Ilyas Zhansugurov and others.
