Baku: President Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the Seventh Solidarity Forum of Azerbaijani Volunteers, emphasizing the importance of the volunteer movement in the nation’s growth, APA reports. In his message, he extended a warm welcome to young participants and congratulated them on International Volunteer Day.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the origins of the volunteer movement in Azerbaijan, tracing it back to the 1990s under the guidance of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The movement has since developed into a symbol of dedication to national and spiritual values, contributing significantly to the country’s progress. The state’s support has facilitated the expansion of the movement, allowing it to make strides in various public sectors.

The forum coincides with the ‘Green World Solidarity Year’, underscoring the volunteers’ efforts in promoting environmental awareness. President Aliyev praised their contributions during the 29th session of the Conference of
the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, a pivotal global event hosted by Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev also addressed the nation’s new era following the restoration of state sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted the volunteers’ role in accelerating the revitalization of liberated territories, driven by innovative social initiatives aligned with youth policy principles. Their involvement is crucial in the Great Return process, marking a significant phase in the nation’s history of independence.

Concluding his address, President Aliyev expressed confidence in the volunteers’ dedication to national statehood, encouraging them to continue using their skills and knowledge for the Motherland’s advancement. He wished them success in their future endeavors.
