Over 52 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections have been recorded in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year, doctor-epidemiologist of the Bishkek Center of State Epidemiological Surveillance Azamat Zhumgalbekov said during a briefing in Bishkek.
He noted that 52 thousand 086 cases were registered during the current period of 2021, while over the same period last year there were 42,19 thousand cases, an increase of 21%.
The largest share of those infected is among children under 14 with 32 thousand 132 cases.
“60 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in schools from Sept. 15 till today, including 49 among schoolchildren and 11 – among school personnel,” Zhumgalbekov said.
