BAKU: Meetings with representatives of international organizations and foreign states continue within the framework of the 29th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) held in Baku, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The country’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Mongolia’s Prosecutor General Jargalsaikhan Bandzragchin.
Kamran Aliyev emphasized that the friendly and mutual trust-based relations between Azerbaijan and Mongolia form a foundation for the further development of political, economic, and cultural cooperation, rooted in a shared historical background. He also provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s efforts in the fight against crime.
While discussing the importance of Azerbaijan hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Kamran Aliyev mentioned that on November 15, the Prosecutor General’s Office, in cooperation with the United Nations
Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), will organize a high-level plenary session on “Mobilizing Law Enforcement to Strengthen Climate Action” and invited the Mongolian side to participate.
Kamran Aliyev also highlighted the importance of experience exchange and visits by prosecutorial staff, stressing the strong ties with Mongolia’s prosecutor’s office.
In turn, Mongolia’s Prosecutor General expressed gratitude for the hospitality, praised the reforms in Azerbaijan’s prosecution system, and emphasized the strong relations between the law enforcement bodies of both countries. He also congratulated Kamran Aliyev on the upcoming professional holiday for Azerbaijani prosecution staff, which is celebrated on October 1, as well as the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the prosecution office.
