Throughout 2021, oil traders are doing everything in their power to curb the growth of prices for fuels and lubricants in the fuel market of Kyrgyzstan. Kanat Eshatov, President of the Association of Oil Traders of Kyrgyzstan (ANK), announced this at a press conference in Bishkek.
According to him, oil prices have been growing rapidly since the end of last year, if at the beginning of last year the price per barrel cost $ 40, today the price has reached $ 80.
“Prices for oil products are growing accordingly. Kyrgyzstan as an oil-dependent state, 95% of oil products are purchased in Russia, and we cannot avoid the global trend. In the past year, the economies of many countries have stopped, the demand for oil has fallen. Therefore, oil-producing countries suffered huge losses and were forced to reduce the production of oil products. Since the end of last year, the demand for petroleum products began to grow. The OPEC + countries did not increase production and artificially create a deficit; today they are raising the price of oil. The OPEC + countries have budgeted for this year; oil prices will not be lower than $ 70, ”he said.
Eshatov also noted that throughout 2021, oil traders are doing everything in their power to curb the growth of prices for fuels and lubricants in the fuel market of Kyrgyzstan. “The companies’ marginality during the year did not exceed 1%, despite this, companies regularly purchased 2-month stocks of petroleum products. For the gasoline group, the increase in wholesale prices since the beginning of the year amounted to 130%, while the increase in retail prices rose only by 59%. For diesel fuel, wholesale prices increased by 70% and retail prices by 40%. Also, oil traders do not allow a shortage of fuels and lubricants in the country, ”said the head of the ANC.
He also added that an agreement was reached between oil traders and the Ministry of Energy to increase duty-free volumes up to 650 thousand tons for the gasoline group and for diesel up to 550 thousand tons. “This year the country will be provided with duty-free fuel and lubricants,” he said.
