In order to exchange experience on the organization of routine immunization in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, a delegation of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan visited the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis of Kyrgyzstan on Oct. 5.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the sides discussed issues of making evidence-based decisions for the further development of an immunization strategy, the introduction of digitalization in the immunization program, provision of the cold chain and vaccine supply within the framework of the project to strengthen the health system of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI).

“The Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic defines the Immunization Program as one of the priority public health programs and is making every effort to ensure equitable and sustainable access to quality immunization services for the population. The ministry is also working to raise awareness of the right and need of every child to be protected against vaccine-preventable diseases, with a focus on vulnerable and high-risk populations,” said Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Uluk-Bek Bekturganov.
