Another humanitarian cargo from the People’s Republic of China, consisting of personal protective equipment, arrived on Sunday at Manas International Airport.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health said that the cargo was transferred by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China to assist friendly Kyrgyz people in the fight against the coronavirus infection, as well as on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan.
Humanitarian aid in the form of disposable medical masks – 3 million pieces, medical masks N95 – 100 thousand pieces and protective suits – 20 thousand sets, was met by Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Uluk-Bek Bekturganov.
He noted the importance of Chinese assistance in the fight against COVID-19:
“I express gratitude on behalf of the Kyrgyz Government and the Ministry of Health and Social Development to the friendly Chinese people for their significant support in combating the spread and effects of coronavirus infection in our country. I am confident that the donated personal protective equipment will help to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among both medical personnel and the population,” he said.
