Within the framework of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev to Brussels, a meeting was held with Secretary General of the Energy Charter Urban Rusnak.
The sides discussed issues related to the modernization of the Energy Charter Treaty. Secretary General Urban Rusnak noted the importance of bringing the Energy Charter Treaty in line with the modern requirements of the global energy sector, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
Also, a constructive exchange of views took place on further strengthening interaction with the Charter in attracting investments in the construction of hydroelectric power plants in the Kyrgyz Republic and strengthening the country’s energy security.
Kazakbaev informed the interlocutor about the upcoming First EU-Central Asia Economic Forum, which will be held in Bishkek on November 5, 2021, and suggested organizing a separate side event from the Energy Charter.
