An Honorary Consulate of Kyrgyzstan was opened in Bursa Province of Turkey, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Governor of Bursa Province Yakup Dzhanbolat, Mayor of Bursa Alinur Aktash, Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul Lira Sydykova, members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, representatives of local authorities, business representatives and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his speech, Ambassador Omuraliyev expressed the hope that the opening of the honorary consulate will give impetus to the further development of mutually beneficial bilateral relations, including in the trade and economic direction between the two countries.

He also expressed hope that newly appointed Consul Bilal Tutush worthily cope with the assigned tasks to protect the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens staying in Bursa Province.

At the end of the solemn part of the event, a meeting was held with Kyrgyzstanis staying in Bursa. The meeting discussed issues of consular and legal assistance to the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as answers were provided to questions of compatriots.
