BAKU: The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is open to cooperation with national development institutions in Kyrgyzstan, the chairperson of the EDB Board Nikolai Podguzov told Trend.

“Eurasian Development Bank is open to cooperation with national development institutions in Kyrgyzstan, as the strategic goals and objectives of these organizations largely coincide with our priorities. There is significant potential in expanding partnerships with such funds as the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, Kyrgyz-Uzbek, Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani, and Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Funds. These institutions are also focused on supporting economic growth and sustainable development of the country by financing key projects of strategic importance for the country,” he said.

According to him, the experience of successful cooperation with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund demonstrates that joint efforts make it possible to implement large projects that have a significant impact on the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

“Similar partnerships with
other funds can open up new opportunities for joint projects in energy, infrastructure, and agriculture that will further strengthen economic cooperation,” Podguzov added.

The head of the bank stated that the development of new transport routes, new gas transportation infrastructure, construction of storage facilities, digitalization of the economy, increasing needs for modern urban infrastructure, rapid growth of freight traffic with China, and its active participation in the construction of energy infrastructure in the region-practical solutions to the challenges of the water and energy complex in the Aral Sea basin-are now structuring the economic policy of Kyrgyzstan.

To note, the EDB is a multilateral development bank that promotes the economic growth of member states, founded in 2006. The bank is headquartered in Almaty.
