ASHGABAT: Cyprus and Turkmenistan have agreed to prepare a memorandum aimed at enhancing trade and industrial cooperation, Trend reports via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The decision was announced following a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the discussions, both parties reviewed the current level of cooperation, focusing on political-diplomatic and trade-economic relations.

They expressed their commitment to strengthening the legal framework of their interactions and preparing several memoranda, including one on political consultations between the foreign ministries.

The ministers also explored partnership prospects in science and education, highlighting opportunities for academic exchange and the education of Turkmen students in Cypriot universities.
