The collective forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) within the framework of the operational and strategic exercises “Combat Brotherhood – 2021” will conduct three exercises on the territory of Tajikistan, in which 4 thousand people and more than 500 pieces of equipment will be involved. This was reported in the joint press center of the exercise, TASS news agency reported.
Exercise “Combat Brotherhood-2021”, within which special exercises Echelon-2021 will be held, “Search-2021” will be held at the military training grounds “Momirak” and “Harbmaidon” from 18 to 23 October this year.
“Four thousand people and more than 500 pieces of equipment will take part in the special exercises Echelon-2021 and Poisk-2021, as well as in the joint exercise Interaction-2021, held in Tajikistan at the Momirak and Harbmaidon training grounds as part of the operational and strategic exercises “Combat Brotherhood – 2021” – said in the message.
It is noted that the Echelon exercises will work out the organization of material and technical support during the preparation and during the joint operation. Special training “Search” is aimed at practicing the organization and conduct of reconnaissance in the interests of the operation. The exercises “Interaction-2021” will work out the issues of conducting a joint operation to localize a border armed conflict associated with attempts to penetrate into the territory of a CSTO member state by fighters of international terrorist organizations.
Military contingents of all six CSTO member states take part in each of the exercises held within the framework of the “Combat Brotherhood”. Also involved are the formation of special forces and interested ministries and departments.
Earlier, the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, said that over 5 thousand people would take part in the exercises “Combat Brotherhood – 2021”. According to him, more than 700 units of weapons, military and special equipment will be involved, including more than 650 units of armored vehicles, up to 20 aircraft, including the Su-24MR and Su-25, over 20 Mi-8MTV and Mi-24 helicopters, as well as 15 unmanned aerial vehicles.
