The border with Tajikistan will be opened after the completion of the delimitation and demarcation procedure, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told during a press conference answering a question from journalists.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic allowed students and teachers from Tajikistan to enter Kyrgyzstan.
“Students must study. But the border will be open after the completion of the delimitation and demarcation procedure in order to prevent conflicts,” the president said.
The Kyrgyz-Tajik border was closed in May 2021 after the border conflict with Tajikistan, when 36 Kyrgyz citizens were killed on the border.
