Students of Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) have won the ‘Green Fintech Startup Challenge’ hackathon organised by the IBA Innovation Centre.
The ‘Itarla’ team, which won the first place, consisted of IV year students of the speciality ‘Process Automation Engineering’ of BHOS Anar Najafov, Eliana Sattarova, Nijat Piriyev and Ravan Guluzade.
The project is an intelligent platform combining automated irrigation systems, real-time crop and soil monitoring and an extremely easy-to-use mobile application. Itarla uses Internet of Things technologies and data analytics to enable farmers to control their crops, make informed decisions and optimise resources.
The team ‘AgroSolar’, which took the 3rd place, consisted of 4th year students of the speciality ‘Process Automation Engineering’ of BHOS Nizameddin Israfilli, Rena Isayeva, Yasemen Mammadli, Faig Najafli, as well as 3rd year student of the mentioned speciality Aysel Rahimli.
AgroSolar is an easy-to-use platform with custom-designed circuit boards that
enable real-time monitoring of energy parameters to improve solar cell efficiency and reduce operating costs. Combining advanced IoT technologies, data analysis tools and a user-friendly interface, AgroSolar offers agronomic solutions that optimise the use of solar energy for agricultural enterprises.
The head of the teams is Ilkin Balazade, a head teacher at the Information Technologies Department.
The team ‘Ecomart’ headed by Sahib Rzaev, a 4th year student of the speciality ‘Computer Engineering’ of BHOS, was awarded the 2nd place.
Ecomart is an artificial intelligence-based warehouse management software that optimises demand forecasting, reduces the loss of perishable products, increases the accuracy of product storage in the warehouse and helps ensure optimal stock levels.
The first place team received a cash prize of 5000 AZN. The 2nd and 3rd place winners received cash prizes of 3000 AZN and 2000 AZN respectively.
