BAKU: New companies from the Persian Gulf countries will be welcomed in Azerbaijan, the executive director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev said at the Azerbaijan-Gulf Cooperation Council economic forum, Trend reports.
‘The Persian Gulf countries have invested more than $4 billion in Azerbaijan’s economy. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Gulf countries amounted to $75 million,” he said.
Abdullayev recalled that during the first forum on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Gulf countries in 2017, the start of projects in Azerbaijan was given to such giants as Masdar and ACWA Power, which have become strategic partners of Azerbaijan.
‘I believe that after today’s second forum, Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Gulf companies will further intensify,’ Abdullayev noted.
He added that within the framework of COP29 events in Baku in November there will be separate panels for businesses whose solutions should make an important contribution to the world’s fi
ght against climate change, and invited Gulf companies to participate in COP29 events.
Abdullayev also mentioned that the investment climate in Azerbaijan is favorable for foreign investments and new companies from the Gulf countries will be welcomed in Azerbaijan.
