BAKU: Approximately 17.5 billion manat ($10.2 billion) have been allocated for construction and restoration work in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan to date, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said in a statement to media, Trend reports.

The minister noted that the total is expected to reach 19 billion manat ($11.1 billion) by the year’s end.

“This will depend on the performance of executive organizations. In principle, progress is being made. Funds are being allocated from the state budget. The Great Return is one of our country’s main priorities, and measures are being taken in this direction,” he added.

To note, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during a speech at the Cabinet of Ministers during the discussion of the draft state budget and consolidated budget for 2025 and the indicators of the consolidated budget for the next three years, the concept and forecast indicators of economic and social development for 2025 and the next three years. Almost 17.5 billion manat ($10.2 bil
lion) have been allocated from the Azerbaijani state budget for the restoration and reconstruction of the territories liberated from occupation since 2020, including 2024.

Ali Asadov noted that 4 billion manat ($2.3 billion) are planned to be allocated for these purposes in 2025.

According to a report from the Ministry of Finance, this amount will represent 10.1 percent of the state budget expenditures for that year, reflecting a 17.6 percent decrease compared to the 2024 forecast.
