ASTANA: The Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan business forum will take place in Astana on August 7, Trend reports, citing the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.

The business forum, which will be organized by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan and QazTrade JSC, will be held as part of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan.

As the Embassy noted, the purpose of the forum is to establish direct contacts and intensify trade relations between Kazakh enterprises and potential buyers, and conduct bilateral meetings.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan account for 57 percent of all trade in Central Asia. From January through April 2024, the volume of trade turnover exceeded $1.2 billion.

Furthermore, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan over 5 years increased by 29.5 percent, amounting to $4.4 billion.
