As part of the working trip of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhyldyz Bakashova to the Talas region, a regular visiting session of the Republican Operational Headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection and eliminate its consequences was held.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting, they discussed the epidemiological situation in the country, the progress of the vaccination campaign in the republic, in particular, in the Talas region, and also considered the course of the educational process in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to operational data, today the target group for vaccination against COVID-19 in the Talas region is about 92 thousand 209 people, of whom 45% of the population were vaccinated with the first dose, including 30.4% of the population underwent a full course of immunization (the first and second graft).

Zhyldyz Bakashova expressed the need to accelerate the process of vaccination of the population against COVID-19 and gave a number of instructions to the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the plenipotentiary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Talas region.

During the discussions, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Bakyt Dzhangaziev noted that the number of deaths is influenced by the presence of concomitant diseases (73% of the deceased had chronic diseases), age (mortality among the group of people over 50 years old exceeds that in the group under 50 years old at 8 times) and gender (mortality among men is 1.8 times higher than among women). The most common chronic diseases among the deceased patients with COVID-19 were cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, and kidney disease.

It is worth noting that 99% of deaths occur in those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

In addition, within the framework of the working trip, a meeting was held with medical workers of healthcare organizations of the region. Economic and organizational issues, problematic aspects of a number of departments of medical institutions were discussed, and the topic of their provision with the necessary equipment was also touched upon.

After considering the proposals and wishes of doctors, many issues were resolved on the spot, on topics requiring detailed study, relevant instructions were given to local authorities, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic and other authorized bodies.
